Prickly Pear Blog Hop

Welcome to our Prickly Pear Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Prickly Pear Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Ramona’s blog then you are on the right track.

For my project, I created three two-page scrapbook layouts using the Prickly Pear Workshops Your Way Scrapbooking Kit and the Prickly Pear coordinating cardstock. These products are featured in the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog, and will be retiring at the end of August. At first, I wasn’t crazy about this paper pack (I’m not a fan of all the cactus prints), but I ended up really liking it because of the fun, vibrant colors included. I tried to keep my embellishments to a minimum, because the colors are so powerful on their own. In addition to the paper and cardstock, the scrapbooking kit includes the Prickly Pear complements, the sequins, and the blue burlap ribbon.

This layout was created using Layout 4 from Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1. The simplicity of the layout really lets the colors in this paper pack shine!

The next layout is my personal favorite! I used Layout 13 from Make It From Your Heart, Volume 2. (Which by the way, I liked the book so much I bought it twice! Oops!) I love how the colors work with our photos in this layout–everything pops!

The last layout was created using the Workshops Your Way Jack Scrapbooking Kit, project 3. The colors in this paper pack scream “Play” to me, so I had to do a layout for my kids using this paper!

Thanks for joining me in the Prickly Pear Blog Hop! Remember to grab this paper pack while you can, before it’s gone at the end of August! Next, check out Lara’s blog.
